Facade Grants for MSL District
These grants are available to both property owners and business owners. The goal of the grant program is to assist in the cost of improvements to the facades of our buildings in the MSL District. These improvements can include any part of the buildings that are visible from the streets or landscaping.
The funds are matching funds, so you spend $1,000 and get $500 back. The minimum project is $500. Download the forms here and contact us if you have any questions!

The City of Laurens trolley can be rented for community events, school functions, birthday parties and more. The trolley is available for rent through a partnership with the City of Laurens and Main Street Laurens.
Trolley Rules and Regulations
The City of Laurens trolley is available for use by the public for weddings, events, transportation needs and other activities. Main Street Laurens is responsible for coordinating the rental and use of the trolley for any event as needed. MSL will also coordinate a driver, who must have a CDL license with passengers, and their payment for services associated with use of the trolley. Once you have contacted the MSL director about a date and use, he/she will reserve the trolley and driver(s). Trolley rental is NOT confirmed until payment has been received by the MSL office for the trolley use. See below for rental fees. Once the trolley rental is confirmed, the renter must contact the driver with specifics about when, where etc to pick up and deliver the trolley. The RENTER will pay the driver the day of use, at the rate listed below and agreed on before rental confirmation. The trolley can hold 24 people comfortably and the front half of the trolley has windows. The back half of the trolley has seats that are covered, but DOES NOT have windows. The trolley does have heat for cool weather use. ALCOHOL AND SMOKING ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM USE ON THE TROLLEY. The driver has the right to refuse service the day of the event if renter, or anyone associated with the trolley use, is intoxicated or tries to bring alcohol onto the trolley. In the event the driver does refuse service based on the abuse of alcohol, the rental fee WILL NOT be refunded.
Trolley Rental Fees
Event/Weddings (local use): $200 Event/Weddings (transportation outside Laurens County up to 50 miles): $250 Non-Profit/School events: $100 Small groups: (Less than 15) $5-$10 per person
$25 up front + $12.50 per hour of trolley use The Main Street Laurens director has the authority to adjust fees as needed based on the proposed use of the trolley. Contact the Main Street Laurens office at (864) 984-2119 to reserve the trolley and answer any questions you may have.
Buy A Brick
Buy a brick for the Courthouse Square Downtown Development Project and leave your mark for future generations. For a contribution of $75 your name will be etched on a brick paver.
Recently Main Street Laurens has worked with our partners at the City of Laurens and Laurens CPW to install new festoon lighting on Silver & Laurel Streets, developing the food truck plaza and working on other improvements in downtown. The funds from the buy a brick program will go directly towards other projects to improve our historic downtown!
