City Christmas Tree Lighting & Christmas Downtown

Join us from 6-8PM as we officially light the City of Laurens Christmas Tree, visit with Santa and enjoy an evening of Christmas activities downtown. Businesses and restaurants will be open late.

This year’s Christmas Tree Lighting is scheduled for December 4 at 6PM and will take place at the fountain area behind City Hall. Santa will arrive to help flip the switch to welcome Christmas to downtown. The evening will then move back to the square for music, marshmallow roasting, activity stations for the kids, businesses open late with shopping specials and cookies and hot cocoa.

Each child will be given a lanyard with activity stations mapped out. They can collect cookies and other treats to take home and enjoy later. Kids will start out at the treat box decorating station.

Children are encouraged to bring their bike, trikes, wagons, scooters etc decorated for a parade with Santa at 6:45PM. The line up will begin on Laurens Street between City Hall and Verdin’s Too. The parade will go around the historic courthouse for a fun evening with Santa.

VIP photo session with Santa require a ticket and can be purchased at the Laurens Y, located on Anderson Drive. VIP sessions include food and extended time with Santa along with a printed family photo.

After the bike/scooter parade, Santa will return to Verdin’s Too for photos with your own camera or phone.
